Happy Pi Day and Making Pots of Gold

As you know the sneaky leprechaun has been paying us visits when we are out of the room! Today he had a blast decorating our cubbies which we found when we arrived today! We still haven't caught him yet, but we sure are trying. We tried to lure him into our room with our fake gold during one of our math lessons. No luck here! But we did strengthen our number recognition skills, our counting skills, following direction skills, and even vocabulary skills (next, before, after) while we made 6 pots of gold!

Later we were excited to celebrate National Pi Day! Pi is the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter -- which is a bit heavy of a concept for our young, bright minds. So we kept it exciting and relevent by working with circles! We worked on our fine motor skills, handwriting skills, and shape identification skills while we made a pig! Check it out, and Happy Pi Day!
