Happy Birthday! & Last Day of Summer Session

Today we celebrate our second birthday of the summer!

As a last day treat we were able to decorate our own cupcakes!

I have had a wonderful time teaching all your children this summer! It has been such a treat getting to know them and watch them grow in such a short time. I wish you all the best in the coming school year and I hope you keep in touch. I'll see some of you in just a few weeks!

Love,
Mrs. Burns

Painting the Earth

We got a little silly this morning,  but had a blast!

Yesterday we prepared our earth and baked it for a few hours. Today we got to paint them! They turned our beautifully!

The World

Today we used the rest of our salt dough to make the globe! Much of the world participates in the Olympics so we decided we would make our very own planet Earth!

Olympic Swimmer Goggles

Today we worked with circles to make our own Olympic grade Swimming Goggles! Natalie Coughlin and Michael Phelps would be proud!

Bubbles and Ice

We had some fun with bubbles today at recess!

Mrs. Burns' idea of bubble blowing (of course it's a camera theme!)

Later we cooled down with some ice. This project tested our problem solving skills, ability to work together,  our alphabet skills, and letter sounds! We had a blast getting the letters out of the ice; and in this heat, it didn't take too long!

We got active in the gym on Friday. We had our own dance party to get up and move as a group!

British Royal Guards

We continued with our London 2012 theme by making British Royal Guards!

Our hallway demonstrated our celebration of London 2012 all summer!
